Cement is one of the key ingredients in mixing concrete that has enhanced the construction and infrastructure game entirely. There are a few tidbits of information that can help guide you before you undertake any project. At our concrete plant we are happy to inform anyone about the basics or answer any questions our clients may have.
Some of the basic concrete need to knows are as follows:
Curing
Like baking, creating quality, long lasting concrete requires the perfect recipe of ingredients mixed with moisture and temperature, with the correct amount of drying time sprinkled in there. Our facility can create the correct concoctions that deliver quality long lasting results.
Superplasticizers
Superplasticizers are a water lessening additive that creates what is known as “slump”, which means the concrete will be easier to place where intended. Superplasticizers small bits of cement through the mixture. It acts like water is being added, but the mix retains its thick batter like density. If you are a contractor, using an additive like this is the most efficient, economically sound solution for your client and yourself. Additive enriched concrete is ideal for floors, suspended slabs, toppings, walls, and columns.
Sealing
Before sealing you must make sure the concrete is fully cured. Aside from the clear benefits of using a sealer such as improving appearance and making surfaces easier to clean, there are many major advantages to using a sealant.
Just be sure to not seal a flat-worked colored surface.
